Several kits of laparoscopic instruments can be used to
perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Our standard kit
includes three 5 mm trocars and one 5-11mm VERSAPORT* trocars using a 5 mm
Stryker™
30 degree angle telescope. We perform the majority of of laparoscopic cholecystectomies in this fashion.
We should also mention, we have abandoned the concept of a 2 mm
laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
